Friday, August 29, 2025, was the final day of the de minimus exemption in shipping, which allowed global shipments valued under $800 to enter the U.S. duty-free each day. With this exemption gone, it will be much more expensive for medical spas and medical aesthetic distributors who work with global beauty brands to stay in budget, and for their patients to afford their retail and services. Not only that, but this change, which was slated to go into effect in 2027 and was pushed up, has slowed and, for some European countries, even temporarily stopped shipments to the U.S. Will this affect you and your business?
