Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company, has launched What Consumers Really Want, the second installment in its The Aesthetics Evolution report series.
The report highlights several major themes defining today’s aesthetics landscape:
- A Priority on Aesthetics: Consumers are prioritizing these treatments within their personal budgets. In fact, 53% of respondents indicated they would decrease luxury spending elsewhere to continue funding their aesthetic procedures. Furthermore, 62% of younger adults report that satisfaction with their appearance directly impacts their mental well-being, while 53% say it affects their physical health.
- The Desire for Natural Results: The modern approach to aging heavily favors subtlety and individualization. Three-quarters (75%) of healthcare providers report that patients prioritize natural-looking outcomes.
- The Value of Deep Consultations: Comprehensive, full-face consultations lead to more holistic treatment plans. Data shows that 65% of patients who participate in multiple full-face consultations choose to treat three or more facial areas, compared to just 23% of patients who only undergo a single visit.
- Provider Trust Over Cost: When deciding to return to a specific cosmetic injector, patients rank “trust in the practitioner’s ability” as their top priority—placing it ahead of both cost and convenience.
What Consumers Really Want compiles data from consumer market research, healthcare provider surveys, and industry expert perspectives. Its findings were further validated through interviews with top U.S. aesthetic practitioners, including Dr. Catherine Chang, Shawna Chrisman, NP, Dr. Steven Dayan, Dr. Evan Rieder, and Dr. Anthony Rossi.
By addressing misconceptions and defining actionable trends, The Aesthetics Evolution series continues to set industry standards. To read the full report or review the previous Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Injectable Fillers Report, visit www.theaestheticsevolution.com.
