The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) 2025 Procedural Statistics Report reveals a major shift toward natural physical restoration driven by aging, post-pregnancy recovery, and weight loss (notably following GLP-1 medication use). Rather than seeking radical physical alterations, patients increasingly favor skin-tightening lift procedures and facial volume rebuilding.
- Overall Growth: Cosmetic surgical procedures grew 7% year-over-year, while reconstructive procedures rose 6% (led by hand reconstruction, scar revision, and implant revision).
- Top Non-Surgical Treatments: Neuromodulators and hyaluronic acid fillers comprised 80% of all minimally invasive procedures.
- Fastest-Growing Procedure: Facial fat grafting saw the single largest gain of any tracked procedure at +39%.
- Lift Procedure Surge: Double-digit increases were recorded across forehead/brow lifts (+29%), upper body lifts (+22%), arm lifts (+21%), neck lifts (+21%), thigh lifts (+20%), facelifts (+13%), and breast lifts (+8%).
- The GLP-1 Impact: 82% of ASPS member surgeons received patient consultation requests linked to GLP-1 weight-loss drug use to address skin laxity and volume loss.
- Demographic Shifts: Older adults (ages 66+) saw the highest growth rate at +24%. Adults aged 36–55 accounted for nearly 50% of all procedures, while demand among younger adults (ages 18–25) dropped 9%.
